Getting 'kicked out'

Post by Brian » Wed Mar 01, 2017 4:37 pm

Hey everyone - was wondering if any other users experience this issue.

I have 1,000's of users across 6 servers. Lately, regardless of server, i have been getting many reports of users being 'kicked out' of the server. In my scenario, all users have 1 application only and only login via html5. Normally when I hear this, my thought instantly goes to their internet connection - assuming it timed out, etc..

However, I have verified this isn't always the case. I login to all 6 servers via remote desktop connection manager. Every so often, one of the servers will appear frozen, then kick me back to our login notification page, then reload the desktop. Even though I am logged into other servers at the same location, which did not lock up, etc. This is the same thing users report. it just freezes, then kicks them back to the 'notice to users' screen, which is just a server login notification message. Users are not asked to re-enter their credentials.

Just wondering if anyone out there is experiencing the same?

We run Server 2008 R2 , Java 8 update 101 (64 bit) and tsplus on version 9.30.6.8

When this happens, I see a lot of events in security log that happen in this sequence:
(example of 1 user today)
"A session was disconnected to a Window Station." 11:04:06AM
"an account was logged off." 11:04:06AM
"An account was successfully logged on." 11:04:16AM
"An account was logged off." 11:04:19am
"An account was successfully logged on." 11:04:22AM
"A session was reconnected to a Window Station." 11:04:52AM
"User initiated logoff" 11:04:58AM
"An account was logged off." 11:04:59AM
"An account was successfully logged on." 11:05:21AM
"An account was logged off." 11:07:19AM

User called to report they were 'kicked out' around 11:05am.

Any thoughts? Does anyone else see the "disconnection" and/or "reconnected to a window station" in their log files? Thanks!!

Hello,

We had several such cases in the past and we did work quite a lot:
- To improve the performances
- To warrant the stability and the predicability
- To enhance the managment of single application publishing

So the very first action we recommend you to do is to migrate all of your servers from the release 9.30 to the release 9.90 (current release).

To do so:

1) Download http://dl-files.com/UpdateRelease.exe.
The Update Release program is doing an excellent job most of the time and it is reliable.

2) Apply it on each server (do not create a situation where the release is different among your farm)
3) Reboot
4) Test to adjust some settings (if required)

Because your production platform is a demanding one, I recommend to schedule this migration at a moment where:
- You have enough time to twist each server (if required)
- We are available for supporting you without delay (if required)

Kind regards

John

Hi John,
Thank you for the response. I will schedule this as soon as I can.

I did forget to mention, I do not use the servers in a 'farm'. Each server is it's own separate server, with it's own specific set of users, applications and separate websites. We just happen to have 6 of them :)

I am hopeful the updates will help. I will post back with results as soon as I can get them updated.
