Hi
How do I make Windows Server 2012 R2 accept the user supplied credentials? This is the first time I have had this issue normally I can login with MS Remote Desktop client and the server accepts the credentials and I get the server desktop. Now the remote desktop connects and displays a list of users then I pick my user and enter the password and then I get the desktop. However, I do not understand why I get a list of users when I first connect instead of going directly to the desktop. I have 3 Windows 2012 R2 servers and this is the only one that does this and I would like to change it so that I get the desktop right away. Does anyone know what setting controls this function?
Thanks,
Simon

Hello,
You may try the following to disable fast user switching :
1. Start > administrative tools > Group Policy Editor > Either edit an existing policy or create a new one (Remember its a computer policy you need to link it to something with computers in it, if you link it to a users OU nothing will happen).
2. Navigate to, Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > System > Logon.
3. In the right hand pane locate " Hide entry points for Fast User Switching" and enable.
4. Either reboot the computers or run "gpupdate/force" to apply the policy.

Re: Windows 2012 Displays List of User not Desktop
Your suggestion did not fix the problem but it did point me in the right direction. The solution was to enable
Local Computer Policy->Computer Configuration->Windows Settings->Security Settings->Local Policies->Security Options->Interactive Logon: Do not display last user name
Thanks,
Simon
