Open URL on client

Post by mriffey » Tue Dec 02, 2014 7:25 am

Where are the docs on this feature? I have looked all over the site, in the docs and in the forum and found nothing.

When the session opens, this URL opens: file:///C:/webtmp/3.14854877372272.html

Why is that? Where is this name coming from?

Thanks, Mark

Solution from a user I know on Skype:

shellex to c:\wsession\urlonclient.exe maps.google.com/maps?

Please document these things.

Hi Mark,

They have just released version 7.80 with the following enhancement (and more):

Fixed URL on Client issue when it was not working. Also, no more tmp files copied on the user Desktop web using the Web Portal: please note that the Java client does not support this feature.

I see you often in the Clarion newsgroups. For which purpose do you use "URL on Client"?

Best regards
Jeffrey

Jeffrey,

Im attempting to use the URL on client feature to open a URL in their host system's browser (ie: not on the TSP server).

I am using 7.8, but this feature is not working and there is no documentation/diagnostic information that I have found so far.

Hi Mark,

Ok, then we have to wait for an official answer of Team TSplus. ;-)
BTW: Which client do you use? HTML5 Web Client?

Have you seen this link:

Jeffrey,

Using html5 and generated client.

I got URL launch fixed - I had to turn off launch URLs on client (the function at the URL you posted) and use the syntax I got from Arnold. Go figure:)

Hi Mark,

Good to hear it's working now. You want to share the special syntax of Arnold? I'm interested in it.

Best regards
Jeffrey
