We just had a report from a customer who tried successfully the linux client xfreerdp and it appears it does support multi screen much better than rdesktop.
As a reminder I post here the prerequisite for TSplus server installation for multiscreen support :
Windows 2008/2012
Windows Seven Ultimate
Windows 8 Enterprise
Multiscreen support on Linux
Multiscreen support on Linux
