9.10 upgrade not what I expected

Post by peter » Thu Jan 28, 2016 10:30 pm

Hello/Help

I ran the update executable and now my server claims it is running 9.10.

Any attempt to login thru the web fails on a timeout.

This server was previously running 8.4 and working.

The server is a 2012 r2 and a IIS was setup and the internal server was disabled through web server management. This was previously configured in 8.4 and operational.

Any ideas?

Is there a process to back out the update?

Hello,

Open an admin tool, and click on "Web Management Tool". make sure all features are set to green. if not, click on "Restart Web Server". If the server won't start, make sure you have not installed another web server or application that would be using the TCP port 80 and/or 443 (Skype and Teamviewer for example). One easy test to do is to change the port of your webserver and restart the server again. A faq regarding this subject is available here : tsplus.net/support/kb/faq.php?id=6

Open a browser on the server, type in the address http:// 127.0.0.2 and open a connection using the java or html5 mode. You should be able to open a session with a local or domain account.

If it still wont connect, uninstall java and delete the java folder located in C:\Program Files x86\ then reinstall java 64 bits on the server and make sure antivirus or firewall software are not blocking HTML5service.exe and SSHtunnel.exe processes.

Thank you for the reply.

Just to be clear the only update to the server was the TSPLUS 9.10 update (excluding the usual assortment of Microsoft updates)

The server was running before the update with TSPLUSS 8.4

I have attached an image of the panel because I find it odd the setting is for the builtin server and yet the left panel reports that is is not listening or at least that is the way I see it. At this point the IIS server is turned off. When IIS is up the port 8080 is operational on the IIS server. The image shows my port 8081 test but I tried the same on port 8080 with IIS deactivated.

So I did some button poking.

Turns out if I hit the "Reset Web Server" after I make the changes (including upgrade) The system responds with the login screen.

My question now is: why did the server not restart on it's own without the extra prod from me? I seem to have to do it whenever I change and save the settings in "Manage Web Servers".

On to image testing...

Thanks
