Hey Brian. I updated last night to 8.50.12.21 and today most people login within 10 seconds. It's only a half day here because of Christmas, so I only tested with 38 users connected. I'm going to test more on Saturday/Monday, which should be a busy day with 65+ connections.

Merry Christmas to all.

For years (W2008) we know that VMI service is creating performance issues.
I have never study this service in detail.
However, what you can try is simply to stop and to disable the WMI service.
If everything is working fine without WMI running, THEN you will probably hit the expected performance.

I know that some programs are requiring WMI to run, so this solution cannot be the ultimate one but it is a very basic one that rewards to be tested.

Kind regards

Hello,

This feature has been removed as compatibility issues were found with Windows 10. You will however be able to download and use a previous version of the client generator which is compatible with the current release at tsplus.net/ClientGenerator.exe

Hi John,

I can try this out. Do you know if TSPLUS will function properly w/out WMI turned on at all? Even when creating new users, groups, adding new applications, etc. ?

Thanks,
Brian

EDIT --- JOHN - I have tried with WMI turned off. It does log me in very quickly - approx 10 seconds. I did not try to add any new users, groups or apps with it turned off. Unfortunately, WMI is required to stay on per my hosting provider and keep me HIPAA Compliant. :*(

Hi Oliver, is there anyway to remove the posts from rpce and have the user post a new thread for their issue? This thread is very important to us - thanks!!

Hi Hansen - have you had any luck with 65+ connections and version 8.50.12.21?
Thanks!!

Hi Brian,
I have great speed with the newest version and about 71 connections right now - 64 of them active. But if you're running 2008, then it might be a problem with WMI like you encountered. I'm on 2012R2 and it only has a known Windows bug about delayed session loading, which means it shows that for 8-15 seconds.
I still think there's still room for even faster logon, but currently it's not a problem like before, where it took 2-3 minutes to logon.

Okay, I went and changed a few settings in the GP (adjusted the disconnect time to two hours) and restarted the server a day or two ago. Now it's more than two minutes to login...
We don't have a lot of disconnected sessions - most clients are connected all the time, but a few people are on the road, so it's nice for them to be able to continue their work from where they left off.
