I just updated from 7.9x to 8.30.7.21 and now some of my users are getting a blank screen when launching their one terminal server assigned application using the connect client executable they used with 7.9x. The terminal session establishes since I can see the session in terminal session manager and can even send a message to their desktop from the console. However, I get an application fault in the event log with a code of 1000 on logonsession.exe fault 8.30
This does not happen every time, but I can reproduce it after a few tries. When I get the blank hung session, I end the session at the console and try again. This never happened in 7.9x before.
My server OS is Windows 2003 Enterprise and it is up to date with Microsoft patches. My antivirus is FPROT and I have an exclusion for c:\wsession and c:\program files\TSPlus and all subdirectories for both paths.
Any ideas on what might be going on or what to try?
P.S. - I also had one weird thing occur on the server when I clicked the Client Connection maker. It flashed and never opened, but after shutting down the admin tool..opening it back up. It then opened again.
logonsession.exe fault 8.30 in event log
Re: logonsession.exe fault 8.30 in event log
I had a batch file that ran from startup in the session to set two net use lpt1 and lpt2 printers. I moved the two statements to a LOGON.BAT file placed in the Application Data Folder for all users. I haven't been able to reproduce a fault yet in the logonsession.exe file. However, I have received a fault in the admintool.exe file, universalprinter.exe and sessionsmanager.exe file a few times.
