Real Time Audio Video (Redirection or other solution?)

Post by RTAVmaster » Tue Oct 21, 2014 1:07 pm

Can end users who remote-in to the host computer redirect their webcams and audio feature? I have a Custom Application with embedded Skype-like video on the host PC and I want users to be able to use that Custom Application remotely.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hello,

Using a microphone is supported, however it will use more bandwidth.

Thank you, understood. Is using a webcam support?

Hello,

I do not recommend to stream video in a TSplus environment as it shows poor performance. You may have trouble redirecting exotic USB peripherals in a TSplus session, this is why we are currently developing a new tool for this purpose : rds-tools.com/usb-for-rdp/

I was trying your USB over RDP tool but it does not work.
I opened a ticket on your rds-tools site but didn't get an answer yet after 4 days.

Maybe you answer here.
I need USB redirection for my TSPlus Server. The clients are running Windows 7 SP1 Pro 32-bit and connecting to Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit . But your usb over rdp tool does not work. It shows all the usb devices on the client but i can't click the share button. I think the problem is a client problem. I also can't change description of the usb device.

Please help, because i need webcam, barcode scanner and fingerprint recognition over rdp.
Will Fingerprint login to RDP work ?

Hello,

RDS tools is not out yet, this is why you did not get any answers there. In my opinion redirecting a camera in a session is not a good idea. As I mentioned before the RDP protocol is not good for streaming video and sound.
