Display issue - floating icons

Post by chadPT » Wed Oct 10, 2018 3:28 pm

We are experiencing a display issue based on the user's resolution. Some user's see the application icons floating in the middle of the screen.

The attached image you can see the issue. This is the same user login, just screenshots taken from 2 computers (with different displays/resolutions). The one on the left, you can see the application icons (like you would see on a taskbar) just floating in the middle. On the right, there are no icons to be seen.

The only setting I could find is 'hide systray icons' in the customize taskbar menu. That is checked, but we still have the issue.

We do not want these icons to be seen (or at least not in the middle floating). Is there a setting in the config files to force these to hide?

Thank you,

Chad

Hello,

If these icons come from your application, there is nothing we can do unless you can change this behavior in your application.
If this is related to language bar options, which is a common issue, you can change this behavior by either opening a full remote desktop so that can disable the language bar or use group policy.

Open a gpedit.msc and navigate to the following directory in the Group Policy editor by double-clicking the folders in the left window pane:

User Configuration/Administrative Templates/Control Panel/Regional and Language Options
Double-click "Restrict selection of Windows menus and dialogs language." A dialog box will appear.
Select "Enabled" and click "OK" to save your changes. Exit the Group Policy editor.
