Evaluation USB-for-RDP

Post by konzept6 » Fri Feb 24, 2017 12:09 pm

Hi everyone,

i'm evaluation the USB-for-RDP tool and i'm able to share my local webcam (with micro) with my remote desktop (Windows Server 2012 R2).

I can see the webcam in "Devices and Printers" on the remote side, but i cannot use this device. Same with an USB-Headset i've tested.

Has anyone experience with connection and using a local USB-Device on a remote server?

If USB for RDP is displaying "Connected" it means that the communication is successful. However, if you do not see your USB device within a remote session, your device driver/software has probably not been correctly installed on the remote system (server).

So, it is just a driver issue that has to be fixed on your remote system (server).

Please follow these steps to fix such issue:

On your remote system console, strong>make sure that you have installed the right driver for this specific device. Your remote system (server) is not the PC on which this USB device is plugged (client).
The best practice is to plug this device directly to this remote system (server) and to install the driver/application exactly like you would do on any standalone PC (client).
This is important: The device driver/application must be correctly installed on this remote system (server). Please verify from the server console that it works fine prior trying to use it remotely.
Please do not contact us without having checked the driver/application installation on your remote system (server).

It is the basic requirement that you need to verify when are installing USB for RDP.
