Hi All
On some of servers the Printer and drive redirection fails every so often and only a reboot resolves this, the problem is we have customers using the machine all day, can anyone suggest a way to restart the redirection without a reboot, i have tried restarting the port renumerer and print spooler service.
Thanks Michael

Hello,
Usually this kind of issue is related to printer drivers that are installed on the server. You may need to update them, you can check the status of your print drivers in the print server section of the control panel.
Deleting any unused printer driver is also common practice. In some cases specific drivers optimized for RDP connexion are available : install them if available.

Hi Michael,
Which version of TSplus are you using? There was a fix a couple of months ago, which was related to loosing printer redirection if the connection did a reconnect (meaning if your client just looses connection for a second or two).
Otherwise, Olivier is correct - having the correct printer drivers on the server (but also the client) is a very common issue for RDP.

Hi
We have several TS Plus servers and every month two or three of our servers lose both drive and printer redirection, a reboot resolves this but it means that customers cannot print for the rest of the day until we can reboot I have checked Group policy, redirection services, Port redirector in Device management, does anyone have a possible solution, it might be nothing to do with TS Plus may just be Windows.
Thanks
Alan

Hello Mickaƫl,
I recommend you to plan a reboot of your server every night using planned task. This will have an overall good effect on your production server as it will un-fragment the memory of the server.
