RDP Communication is now blocked on all ports?

Hello all

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Last week I installed the most recent version of tsplus on a 2012 R2 Server.

All was fine. That is until I went into server settings and attempted to updates the "CHANGE RDP PORTS SETTINGS" to reflect the same as what is in their router.

I edited the defaul;t 3389 to their ports in use being 3390.

I blank screen appeared with just the num, bers 3390 in it as well as a blank button at the bottom. All had no writing and no other choice. I assumed this to be YE to change and update port...

On clicking blank button the Server rebooted?!?!

Admin Tool still reflected not change and held to 3389 on main config display page???

Since that time all port forwards being attempted are not gaining any RDP access what so ever!!!

I have since uninstalled tspplus and rebooted.

Still zeor access via RDP?

Registry display correct ports but still no access.

Can some one please assist.

THANK YOU TO ALL!

Sean

Hello,

It sounds like the port 3390 is being used by another service, which can result in a conflict.

Your server should be accessible using either port 80/443/3390 depending on your connection method. You can try to connect from the console of the server by launching a mstsc.exe with 127.0.0.2 in the address. If you can connect from the console but not from a remote location please check your router / firewalls to allow traffic.

If your system has connection issues and the above did not work, you will need to check the following :

- Process one reboot to verify if you the issue remains after restarting the system.

- In case of incompatible Updates that has been installed on your system, the solution is to download and run the latest update on your server : http://dl-files.com/UpdateRelease.exe

- With the AdminTool, verify the status of your TSplus license.
It is important to know if your issue is related to a TSplus license or to a Windows system problem.

If your current TSplus license is invalid you will need to install the latest TSplus update and activate a new valid one.

Open a windows explorer and locate the license.lic file in the following path C:\Program Files (x86)\TSplus\UserDesktop\files and apply your license again.

- If the above does not correspond to your issue, open a services.msc and make sure the "Application publishing service (APS) is running. If the service is not running then it means another application is conflicting TSplus like skype or teamviewer. You may need to change TSplus port to another one that would be free to use. More information on port changing can be found here : http://support.tsplus.net/kb/faq.php?id=5

You can verify the status of network running services by executing a netstat -na command, any port with the status "Listening" means that the tcp port is currently used by a service.

TSplus support team

Hello,

Well this seem to be a Windows related issue, were you able to start the Remote Desktop service at all ?
Restoring your server to an earlier state may be the quickest way to solve this.

Hello to all

Is there anybody out there with advice?

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated!

Please review below information.

A standard trial install has effected a 2012R2 Server quite badly.

It started by blocking RDP communications. It was then removed and then rebooted.

Now the IT people report…
================================
I can confirm after a reboot the RDP access is still not operational though, it shows a login password request then after securing and configuring it shows the welcome screen then says “logonsession” in the titlebar and “File Not Found” in the box, as per below.

Any ideas on what this could be, we really need to get RDP working as I need to investigate the RAID reset that happened on Saturday.

No local or remote access that's what's scary!
It looks like tsplus is still active in a form of another. Can't remove or rename the tsplus folder when browsing C remotely from another workstation. Renaming files in the folder (adding old at the start) changes local login slightly where it will load file Explorer and be usable for 10 seconds then logs off
================================

PLEASE HELP!

What is happening and do you have a way of allowing access in this type of situation where all access has been halted?!

Eagerly waing on you reply

Regards
Sean Darcy

Hello all

Just a quick update with regards to access.

RDP access is still not operational though, it shows a login password request then after securing and configuring it shows the welcome screen then says “logonsession” in the titlebar and “File Not Found” in the box, as per below.
logonsession.png
(2.71 KiB) Downloaded 2677 times
When attempting a local RDP we get thge same message window, “logonsession” in the titlebar and “File Not Found”. BUT the top section of the window is labelled ALTERNATE SHELL.

Then we are logged out..... Can anybody provide any suggestions or assistance?

Thank you!
