Good morning everybody
I've this problem.
I connect through grafic client to a server 2012 Foundation (Tsplus 8.5)
I've installed PDFCreator (same version) both on server and clients
When connected, I open a ERP based and installed on that server. If I want to print to pdf I can choose only the printer on the server, I cannot see the printer redirected by my client pc.... but I can see other client's printers. And so I cannot save easy the file to my desktop, for example
something wrong ?
thank you for your help
Umberto
Printing on PDFCreator 2.2
Re: Printing on PDFCreator 2.2
Hello,
Seeing other connected user's printer is quite common when using standard printer redirection. If old ghost unused printers are stacking in your printer list, you can use this procedure to clear them out once and for all : http://support.tsplus.net/kb/faq.php?id=21
You will not encounter this behavior if you use the Universal Printer as the unique printer.
You will find some general guideline on how to print below :
1- Universal Printer :
In order to print using the Universal Printer you need to use a generated connection client or the use of our web client.
You will find here a good tutorial on how to print using TSplus : tsplus.net/support/kb/faq.php?id=20
2- Print redirection :
Using standard redirection can be tricky, because many prerequisite must be met in order for it to work.
You need to install the exact same version of device drivers on client side and server side.
This means if your server is installed with 2012 x64 but your client computers are installed with Windows XP x32, you will need to add manually these drivers on your server by editing the print server properties and add x32 drivers for XP.
For best results, it is also recommended not to use USB printers but prefer COM or LPT printers.
If you are using USB printers, make sure you updated the RDP protocol of your client computer to 7 or above to ensure maximum compatibility with redirected printers.
Even with all this in mind exotic printers may not be suitable to be redirected in a TSplus session, therefore you may need to look into specific procedure to install these printers in RDS / terminal server environment, which is very close to TSplus in this case.
