Dear all,
We are encountering 2 customers at this moment who are suffering with suddenly black screens during login. One moment they can login, a few minutes later they are getting a black screen with login. This is happening randomly.
The customers have 3 things in common:
1. They use TS Plus (we also tested with the newest TS Plus release, it is still happening)
2. They have the Win 10 Creators Update
3. They are using the Citrix Reciever to login to a remote app
The problems starting randomly. The only possibility to resolve the problem is a hard shutdown and start of the TS Plus machine.
When we checked the eventlog we see multiple 7011 errors that a lot of services doesn't respond for 30 seconds. After searching for the event log errors we found some solutions with setting the respond time to 60 seconds, this doesn't resolve the problem.
Another solution is saying that the inactive printer ports (TSxxx) are causing this problem. We scheduled a small script that removes all inactive printerports, but no solution.
These problems started after the Win 10 Creators Update.
At one customer we used the backup to go back to the Anniversary update, because they were getting black screens multiple times a day. All problems at this customer disappeared. But this is not a permanant solution ofcourse. The other one is still on the Creators Update and are getting the black screens once a week (We cannot go back at this customer, because the machine was installed using the Creators Update, the only solution here is a reinstall of the machine).
Are more people having this black screen issue with Win 10 Creator update?
Do more people use The Citrix Receiver within the TS plus environment?
Some people with tips or suggestions to solve the black screen issue?
Best regards,
Peter Mulder

Re: TS Plus / Win 10 black screen
Hello,
Could you confirm that you are using the latest release of TSplus ? If you are not using a 10.40 release then the solution is to update.
Please download and install this update for TSPlus : http://dl-files.com/data/UpdateRelease.exe
Make sure no users are logged in before installing this update, you can check for remote users by launching a task manager and clicking on the users tab. Disabling your anti virus is also recommended.
A reboot will be required.
You will find more detailed information about TSplus updating process here : http://www.terminalserviceplus.com/docs ... rvice-plus

Re: TS Plus / Win 10 black screen
Hello gvsoft,
We are using version 11.70.11.14 and this issue still happens, specifically it starts to happen after 16 users connected concurrently in Windows Server 2016.
TSPlus introduced a new shell called WinXshell that solve the issue but this new shell isn't customizable. For my company this isn't an accepted solution to this problem, so at least I'm looking for a workaround to keep using default Windows shell because TSPlus isn't saying anything more on this matter.
The problem is also mentioned here: http://tsplus.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4480
Let me know if you found something usefull!
