Out of the blue nobody can log into one of our Windows 2008R2 servers anymore. The machine has been working just fine for about two years.
The message the users get is "Remote Desktop can't connect to the remote computer for one of these reasons" etc.
I can FTP into the machine and log in using TeamViewer, so there should not be a network problem. Just to be sure I also turned off the firewall.
The only possibly related message in the event log I could find is
"RDPClient_TCP: An error was encountered when transitioning from TcpStateConnectingTransport to TcpStateDisconnected in response to 2 (error code 0x80004004)."
Not sure it's related.
I upgraded to the latest version of TSplus, and installed all the latest Windows updates. As said, everything was still working yesterday.
Could anyone please point me into the right direction to trouble shoot this?
regards,
Michiel Blotwijk
Can not connect to Remote Desktop Service
Re: Can not connect to Remote Desktop Service
Hello,
Could you have a look at what has been updated on your server lately ? Any device drivers, applications, or any hardware upgrade (a new network adapter for example) ? Any recent change may cause a change on your server's behavior.
You can download and install this patch which insures the compatibility of TSplus with any recent windows update : tsplus.net/CompatibilityUpdate.exe and reboot
