Reporting and Universal printer.

Post by AadGouka » Thu Jul 23, 2015 5:21 pm

Hi,

For login to TSPlus we are switching from Java to HTML5. When we print a report, let's say 18 pages, we have to push the "Click to view PDF"
18 times. Is there a way to print the total report with one click.

Best regards,

Aad

Hi Aad,

The HTML5 Web Client use the Universal Printer driver and everytime you send a "print command", a pdf of that print task will be generated. So that's expected behavior. I guess you use 18 times some sort of print command? If you can generate your 18 page report and print it as one task, then you get one pdf with the 18 pages in it.

Best regards
Jeffrey

Hello Jeffrey,

Thank you for reply. The case is, that our software puts the report on the screen (preview), so all 18 pages
can be scrolled and checked. When I give the print command (HTML5), Google Chrome opens 18 Windows
and I have to give 18 print commands within each window, so this is a kind of strange behaviour, because the
report is delivered in one piece.

I will try this in Explorer and some other browsers.

Best regards,

Aad

Hi Aad,

We don't get that behavior here.
The multi-page reports that we have developped are send as one task to the printer, so that's why we get one pdf file with all pages in it. So I guess your software is generating a print/flush per page which results in one pdf file per page.

Best regards
Jeffrey

Hi Jeffrey,

Problem solved. Reporting can be set to all pages at once or page by page. The first option did the trick.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards,

Aad
