Cannot connect to windows 10 server but win 7 and win 8 work just fine

Cannot connect to windows 10 server but win 7 and win 8 work just fine.
Same process for each machine. I have rebooted win 10 and also reinstalled the TSplus software.
No firewall and no antivirus on my win10 VM (using vm ware). Win7 and win8 were also vm's.
It seems I can get past the logon process as my virtual machines have no password, so i enter the password I had to set with the generated client and then re-do the login to what appears to be windows. Then everything just stalls.
I should not that my success with win7 and win8 were with the same no password for the windows user.

Tried again this time with a password assigned to the user in windows 10. No joy.
The process seems to go to the login process and then stall.
Most recently it did show notepad, one of two authorized apps (the other being MS Access) but Notepad was locked and not usable.
Any logs to record what is happening?
