Setup WAN / Remote Network Access

Hi,

I am a new TSPlus user and have successfully installed TSPlus on a clients LAN (running a software application I have written). They are running the Mobile Web Edition 9.10 (10 User) and accessing the applications on the TSPlus Server using the HTML5 client. Everything is working well.

Now they want to setup External/Remote Access to the TSPlus Server in their LAN. I have read the TSPlus Documentation, but it seems a little light on detail in this area (or I have read the wrong documentation :D )
I would like to know how to configure this remote access. The documentation does state that my client will need a Static / Fixed IP Address, so I figure that's step 1.
What do I do with this Static IP Address? Is it entered into the clients router?
Do I need to use Port forwarding from the Router to the TSPlus Server? If so how should this be configured?
It would be useful if the TSPlus Documentation included this information.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

p.s. I am no

Steven

Hello,

You are correct : there is no documentation regarding this subject.

Here is what is needed to be done in order to access your TSplus server from a remote location.

1- Connect to your internet router, and create a port redirection rule to allow either the 3389 (for standard RDP access with generated connection client) or 443 / 80 (for web client). Port redirection / NAT / port forwarding / adding a server, these are how router's options are named to achieve this. It depends on brand / model of router used, and each one is different.
2- Make sure the firewall of your internet router are allowing traffic for ingoing and outgoing traffic on these port.

That's pretty much it. :geek:
