Hello
I am evaluating TSplus for a client application.
Setup:
Cloud server - Amazon Web Services Windows Server 2008 (32-bit application)
Admin Access by MS RemoteDesktop
I have installed the client application; it still has some problems but it runs well enough for remote testing. Last night, I installed TSplus trial edition and I was impressed - it seems fairly intuitive and easy to configure. I created some test users, set up the application. (This could be the problem here - I probably missed something Very Important or misinterpreted something! I probably included the administrator account in with the others for testing purposes, and that's why I'm having the problems below.) It was getting late so I quit when I was done with TSplus.
Today, I tried to log in as administrator (using regular MR RDP) to continue configuration, etc.:
I get the usual welcome, configuring your desktop, etc. messages.
The screen appears to be a slightly different hue of blue.
The TSplus "Connecting" progress bar comes up and the "Trial version" window appears.
An application error box flashes and the "Logging out" appear. The window disappears.
After a couple of tries, I rebooted the machine from the AWS console. I figured that maybe it's an application problem causing a premature program end, and then TSplus thinks it's time to go. So I went on the server with FTP and uploaded a dead simple application in place of the application that TSplus is supposed to start. It is very simple and it runs correctly on my home machine. Unfortunately, the same thing happens with this simple application - the window opens but closes immediately and then the remote session logs out.
I discovered the TSplus Web Access and I am able to access it. With HTML5, I am able to log in as administrator but the same thing happens. The desktop comes up, TSPlus starts up, the application window appears for half a second, then it disappears and I am logging out.
I also tried using FTP to rename the TSplus folder in an effort to disrupt it at startup. Unfortunately, I cannot rename the folder (\Program Files\TSplus).
Is there anything I can do in this situation to stop TSplus from loading?
Is there a way to access the admin console (either with RDP or from the Web Access portal) bypassing the application?
I have FTP access.
Safe Mode does not appear to be an option as I need networking and RDP working to access the server.
Thank very much, it's been educational (but not in a good way).
David
