2019 Server

We have serious problems with two 2019 Servers with latest TSpLus Printer Edition and Advanced Security. The server occasionally gets completely stuck and only a reset helps. We saw that the problem starts when the proces svcr.exe process stops working, and shortly after that the server gets stuck. It also happens when only one user works on computers. We tried to detailed test and later replace the complete machine and it didn't help.

Here's what a reliability monitor looks like:

Does anyone have any advice?

Hello,

svcr.exe is a launcher which is responsable of executing your published applications to your users depending on the environment chosen in the admin tool. Using process explorer from sysadmin you should be able to identify which one of the published application is responsible for this server hanging issue.

Ok, thanks for the reply.

I would just like to mention that for some reason TSPlus on Server 2019 gives about 30-40% worse performance than Server 2012R2, on same machine...

Hello,

Yes I am not surprised. One important performance tweak that you can set up is the following : open an admin tool / sessions / settings / disable per user services.

This official Tip from TSPlus states otherwise. Why would you 'not be surprised' by 2019 running slower? This article says it is the fastest (and why we officially switched to 2019 going forward for our OS of choice after we read this).

Hello,

I make the official statement on the FAQ here. Did you check the box as mentioned above ?
2019 is great if configured properly. Now this information does not include the fact that Windows update and recent Windows built may influence global performance.
