Problems with AdminTool

Post by Moonscar » Fri Nov 06, 2015 5:11 pm

Greetings,

We purchased TSPlus (02.11.2015) license for 10 users + printer. We installed the product on our server and everything went smooth. But after the reboot we can't connect via RDP anymore as administrator or any other user which had access before (after connecting to it it automatically logs you off with no message given). After that we also tried to open Admin Tool and nothing happens at all. I tried to check Event Log for any details but there is no error regarding the application itself or any trace of non working application. Now the only option to access the server itself is physically on location or via TeamViewer.

Any help will be more than welcome.

Hello,

If your system has connection issues, you will need to check the following :

- Process one reboot to verify if you the issue remains after restarting the system.

- Verify that your TSplus release is not a too old one.
For old release (5.xx and below) the TSplus technology cannot match with the latest version of Windows.

In such case, the solution is to update to the current release of TSplus.

- Incompatible Windows Updates has been installed on your system.

The solution is to download and run
tsplus.net/CompatibilityUpdate.exe and reboot (mandatory)
Please note that from release 8.40, TSplus includes the support of the latest Microsoft Updates.

- With the AdminTool, verify the status of your TSplus license.
It is important to know if your issue is related to a TSplus license or to a Windows system problem.

If your current TSplus license is invalid you will need to install the latest TSplus update and activate a new valid one.

Open a windows explorer and locate the license.lic file in the following path C:\Program Files (x86)\TSplus\UserDesktop\files and apply your license again.

Greetings,

First I want to thank you for your kind reply. TSPlus version is 8.40.11.6. Server we are using is Windows 2008 Standard SP2. We did run CompatibilityUpdate.exe as you stated and reboot the server but we are still unable to open AdminTool. Should i try to reinstall it again or are there any other options to fix the issue? Also, are there any prerequisites needed for AdminTool like Java or any other?

Thanks again and kind regards,
Sebastian

Hello,

we also have problems with the admintool in version 8.40.11.06
After starting it crashes .

With the TSPLUS version 8.40.30.10 there are no problems.

Greetings once again.

So here is what we did until now :

- We have run CompatibilityUpdate as stated.
- We uninstall TSPlus complete
- We reinstall it from dl-files.com/Setup-TSplus.exe as stated in support ticket, which i open 2 days ago.
- We also run UpdateRelease.exe in case the version would be older than latest.

After every step server was rebooted !

- Installation went smooth with no problems 1st and 2nd time (reinstallation)
- After reboot there is a welcome screen of TSPlus

We are still unable to open AdminTool and still unable to remotely connect over RDP. If we uninstall the product we can RDP normally.

Hello,

This issue has been fixed with the latest release available now.
Please download and install this update for TSPlus : http://tsplus.net/UpdateRelease.exe

Make sure no users are logged in before installing this update, you can check for remote users by launching a task manager and clicking on the users tab. Disabling your anti virus is also recommended.

A reboot will be required.

AdminTool now can be opened however we are still unable to RDP on the server. After Welcome screen server automatically log off user who tries to connect (even Administrator). Before installation of TSPlus we could RDP normally.

Greetings,

We found the solution for this problem. It was quite tricky so here it is :

In Session Opening Preferences we removed Display progress bar during the logon. Also, we changed Use TSPlus shell when opening sessions (default) to Use native Windows shell when opening sessions. After we saved the changes I was able once again connect over RDP.

Now we will test the server with multiple connections, after that we going to configure it to our needs.

Best regards,
Sebastian
