Applications Publishing and Assigning Enhancement
Applications Publishing and Assigning Enhancement
We would like to have some great feature in the Applications Publishing and Assigning for next TSplus version, if they are possible:
1. Change Published Applications Order
2. Change a Published Application Icon
3. To Add Applications by Drop File / Shortcut 4. Assign Application by Users / IP Address / MAC Address / Client OS etc. 5. Control the Number of Application could be Launched The above photos are some examples from RAS software.
Thanks in advance!

Hello,
Too bad the screenshot did not show up correctly, I will forward this to development team as it is a good idea.

As others have said:
+1
In the Admin Modules - Application Publishing and Assign Applications
1. Change Published Applications Order
Maybe this could be achieved by allowing a mouse click on the Column Header which would have the Sort options attached e.g.
a. Click on Header - Display A - Z - set as new default
c. Click on Header - display Z - A
d. Click on Header - display as Entered
Apply the same Sort procedure to the Users Lists / Groups.
a. Sort by Alphabetic User Lists, then Users within Groups.
b. Sort by Alphabetic Users within Groups then by Users..
Thanks for beig able to make these suggestions.

Re: Applications Publishing and Assigning Enhancement
Hello,
I may have found a workaround for this.
As you know this option is (not yet) implemented, however you should be able to modify the list of published application by editing the AppControl.ini file with notepad located in C:\Program Files (x86)\TSplus\UserDesktop\files
Example
You will see a list of applications that looks like this :
[App6]
appname=TurboDemo
path=C:\Program Files (x86)\TurboDemo 7.5 Ent\TurboDemo.exe
startup=C:\Program Files (x86)\TurboDemo 7.5 Ent
cmdline=
maximized=no
minimized=no
hide=no
all_users=no
[App7]
appname=Scanner
path=C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Photo Viewer\ImagingDevices.exe
startup=C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Photo Viewer
cmdline=
maximized=no
minimized=no
hide=no
all_users=no
By changing [App7] into [App6] the scanner application will be displayed prior to the Turbodemo application. This works only if you use the floating panel.
I know this not a perfect solution, but I thought you might find it interesting.

Re: Applications Publishing and Assigning Enhancement
To Admin,
To date nothing appears to have been done with this request, apart from Olivier's patch to the AppControl.ini file.
Is this request on the Dev list, if not please get it onto their list
Very frustrating / time consuming searching for Users in a long list.
Thank You
Terry

Re: Applications Publishing and Assigning Enhancement
Hi,
Can I add a +1 to this. Sorting by application is very important to us. I am wary of changing the application order in the ini file in case the app number is used as a key for the users list.
Can you confirm I can change the order in the ini and that changing the app number will not affect the user assignments?
Another needed option is to find who is assigned to a particular application.
Thanks,
John

Re: Applications Publishing and Assigning Enhancement
Hello,
I confirm you that we added the capability to select the display order of the applications into our "todo list" for the future releases.
I cannot tell you when it will be done but most probably before the end 2018.
Changing the icon is really a complex enhancement. We can study it and we will. However I cannot commit on this wish.
Adding filters like RAS is doing is not at all part of our projects.
What we will develop is a smart new feature for RDS-Knight to give the administrator the "right tool" to manage the NTFS security rules on folders and files. This new feature is also scheduled to be available before the end of 2018.
Kind regards
John Davies
