TSplus 8.40 release announcement

The TSplus licensing service has been rewritten, to warrant the stability of the existing licenses and to facilitate re-hosting and upgrades.

The Windows client for Web Portal has been enhanced, so that Java is not required anymore.
However, Java will still be necessary on the server side.

The generated clients are now able to use the Gateway load balancing.

A new Virtual Printer feature for HTML5 client: you can now choose the "Virtual Printer" instead of the "Universal Printer", in order to print instantly on your local printer. This new virtual printer is faster and easier to use.

The URL on Client in HTML5 is also much improved, with more stability.

All known issues of the 8.30 release have been fixed in the 8.40 release and many other minor enhancements have been added.

TSplus 8.40 new Release

- RemoteAppClient: Fixed Bug when using Reverse-Proxy and HTTPS, improved connection to application servers behind a Reverse-Proxy
- Web Portal: Fixed Bug when using Reverse-Proxy and a non-standard web port
- Web Applications Portal: The "Log Off" button returns to the Login page where the user was before (and on the Gateway login page even when using Reverse-Proxy)
- Web Applications Portal: Fixed Bug when publishing "run-bat-cmd-shortcut.exe" (usefull for publishing shortcuts or .bat applications)
- Applications: Fix encoding bug. You might need to edit your Applications' names, path and startup folder if you have encoding issues, then save. The encoding issue should now disappear.
- Web Print: Fixed Bug when in some cases the process webprint.exe was consumming a lot of CPU
- Group Policies and Sessions Management: user sessions can now be automatically logged-off when disconnecting
- HTML5 Client: Fixed Bug for Virtual Printers on x86 architectures

A new version of TSplus is being uploaded right now and will be available within few minutes.

This is our comment for this new version:

- Enhancement on background color handlers.
We have work a lot to handle natively the background color of a session.
We did it to enhance the seamless client behavior.
It is a complex change and we will possibly have to recompile our code
few time more during the next days before to be satisfy by the results.
Our goal is to enable different colors (today, the MS blue was mandatory)
We also wish to allow the display of a background image if the customer wish it.

- Typo fixes in the client generator

- For HTML5, support of special characters in the password.
This problem has been included recently and it is fixed now

- Change of Windows APIs that are not supported on XP/2003 to avoid issues
The code now has been improved provide a better support of old systems

- Assigned servers to groups: We added the support of local Groups.
The support of AD groups will be added later. This feature will be completely re-written
in the release 8.50

- In the case of Application Portal, IF the Desktop was published, we had not, as expected, the TASK BAR started when running in RemoteApp mode. Keep in mind that the Windows RemoteApp mode has been designed by Microsoft to publish applications and not at all to publish a Desktop. This is why we want our TSplus TaskBar in such specific case We also adjust the setting, in this case, to enable the display of the Desktop if it is the Seamless mode which is selected. - In the case of TaskBar and Seamless mode, we had a bug (The seamless theme was confused with the Taskbar theme) It is fixed now - On XP system, the AdminTools creates an AutoIT error. We have fixed it and we also used this opportunity to fix 2 other bugs on XP/2003 in the AdminTool.

- logonsession.exe and/or webprint.exe crashes.
We did fix this issue

- Chinese character in application display names (AdminTool, Floating Panel, Task bar, Web Application Panel)
Unicode characters was not display properly
It is fixed now

- Application list removed by the AdminTool
We did fix this issue

- Group members not recognized from the Active Directory

This is our comment for this new version:

For the past 2 weeks we had to fix a complex issue related to webprint.exe and logonsession.exe This issue has been created by the wish to be able to sustain the printing capability after a reconnection when using HTML5.

This issue was a quite complex one. However, it is fixed now (in the SETUP and in the UpdateRelease programs)

Also, this build includes the capability to update all of the language supported.
The current build is including the German and the Portuguese new completed languages.

During the next 2 weeks we are expecting to add all other languages.
We will also resize some of the GUI to make nicer the display of languages requiring longer filed than UK language.

- This uptade includes more entries for local language support.
(thanks to Hendrik and Alan Yang early feed back who enabled us
to identify more "hard coded" english text in the code and to extra them
to the language text files

- For 2 weeks, the GPO feature to reconnect a disconnected was not operating
as expected. All disconnected session was detected and closed.
So, we fixed this point and we changed the GPO tile to provide a complete
choise to the Administrator

- Some Windows system are not installed on C drive.
This release is now enabling installation on such special systems
