Opening MS Word & Excle files without office on the Host

Post by bhrt60 » Sat Oct 07, 2017 2:05 pm

TSPlus website says Word/Excel files open automatically and office does not need to be inatalled on tge Host.

I downloaded the 14 day trial

I've tried the Remote app BUT only able to open Word/Excel files stored on the host if MS Offfice is installed on the host!

What am I doing wrong?

hi,
I have Reckon Accounting hosted remotely and when my users want to send invoices, the software (Reckon) will normally open Outlook with the invoice attached.
However, this is not happening and even after selecting open on client side, it is still not working. I had to install Outlook on that server.
Please how can I solve this?

In simple terms, how do I open email client (say Outlook) on client side instead of on server side.

Thanks

Hello,

Open an email on client is a feature that we want to implement in the future, but it is a technical challenge for us at the moment so for now this is not supported.

Hello,

No, this has not been implemented and has been removed from road map for now as it has proven to be too complicated. Sorry for the bad news.
